  • Frame Gride

Being developed by the same people responsible for the Armored Core games on the PlayStation comes Frame Gride a new mechanized fighting game for the Dreamcast. Frame Gride was unveiled at the Fall TGS only as a mystery game which many compared to the Virtua On titles. Now, From Software has revealed it's true identity.

Frame Gride as revealed by From Software will be a mechanized based fighter. According to reports from Japan, the game will take place in a fantasy world with an emphasis on swords and magic. From what has been unveiled about gameplay the game will focus in on upgrading your robot by collecting various parts after battles. Frame Gride will also have two game modes a story and vs battle mode. The vs battle mode can be played either via split screen or the modem!

At the Fall TGS many were impressed by the game's detailed visuals and colorful background settings. I think the screen shots which you can view via our multimedia link to the left will give you a good idea as to why people were impressed. As you can see, Frame Gride uses impressive light sourcing techniques to enhance the graphics. Lets hope these guys can compose a soundtrack which will help complement the high quality visuals.

Currently, Frame Gride is slated for a Japanese release in 1999. Rumors are indicating that this game will be released sometime in the Spring of 1999 but those reports have not been confirmed as of yet. We'll be sure to keep you up to date as to the development progress of this nice looking Dreamcast title.
