  • Flight Shooting

Konami recently unveiled their first Dreamcast projects to the public via various Japanese gaming publications. One of these projects is Flight Shooting a combat flight simulation game which brings back memories of the Top Gun games on the 8 bit NES.

Flight Shooting looks as if it will be a very impressive addition to the 1999 Dreamcast lineup. The game is said to feature a wide variety of planes, including the Mig 21, B-2 Stealth and many others. Unlike Aerodancing which places an emphasis on acrobatics and arial manuevers, Flight Shooting is a simple hard core dog fighting title. To put it bluntly, there is no wussy bull shit in this one as this is pure and all out war. Unfortunately, Konami has yet to release more specific details on the actual gameplay other than the latter.

Judging from these recent screen grabs released by Konami, Flight Shooting looks as if it is a very graphically appealing title. The game settings and fighter jets are depicted with colorful and inspiring graphical detail. Thus far Flight Shooting has not been shown in public, so it is currently unknown how well the animations and on-screen movement will be. Knowing Konami and their previous efforts such as Metal Gear Solid, the animation should be done very well if not spectacularly.

Currently, Flight Shooting is slated for a spring/summer 1999 release in Japan. We'll be sure to keep you guys up to date as far as this game's development progress.
