  • Carrier: Ark Of Hell

Carrier: Ark Of Hell is already being dubbed as a Bio Hazard: Code Veronica clone by many naysayers. Although this might be true to some extent, Carrier: Ark Of Hell has the potential to be a very solid Dreamcast title.

Set in the near future, an experimental weapon causes an explosion on an aircraft carrier. In order to find out what happened you and a team of investigators are sent in to evaluate the situation. When your team arrives you find out that every crew member of the aircraft carrier has turned into a zombie or another hideous freak of nature. You only have a set amount of time to investigate the entire incident and than run for your lives. While you are investigating the situation, your other team members will be doing the same thing. This means that you could potentially run into them at anytime and at any place. Assumingly you will be able to play as any member of the investigation team, which also means the possibility of multiple endings and other goodies.

Although this game does sound much like the Bio Hazard games, Jaleco has chosen to include some new gameplay applications with Carrier: Ark Of Hell. The game takes place in real time which means if one hour passes by in real life, one hour will take place within the game. This is one gameplay concept that developers have decided not to include within 16 or 32 bit games. It should be interesting to see what Jaleco can do with this real time concept in Carrier: Ark Of Hell.

Currently, Carrier: Ark Of Hell is slated to be released in the Summer of 1999 in Japan. No word on rather or not this game will be released state side, but we'll keep you up to date.
