Buggy Heat
Buggy Heat is an offroad style racing title which has a striking similiarity to the Rally Cross
games on the PlayStation. Although this game has remained in the shadow of the recently released
Pen Pen Tri-ice-lon and the upcoming Sega Rally 2, this game does have the potential to be a quality
racing title for the Dreamcast. Many have already begun to compare Buggy Heat to Sega's AM3 arcade title, Dirt Devils.
Buggy Heat allows players to select from eight uniquely different buggies both in standard and manual transmission.
In addition, there will be many different race tracks to choose from including desert, mountain and even
regular road stages. Furthermore, there will be various different modes of gameplay to choose from including
a time attack mode and possibly a split screen mode. Overall, Buggy Heat appears to offer many of the traditional
features found in many of today's racing titles.
Judging from these images recently released by CRI, the game looks quite impressive. The vehicles themselves
look very nice up close and the courses are colorful designed. One thing is for certain, Buggy Heat should
be a very visually impressive game. Now, the only question marks remaining are the sound and the physical gameplay itself.
We should know more about these aspects of Buggy Heat when the Spring TGS and E3 shows roll around. Rest assured
that we'll have Dreamcast coverage on both of these events.
Currently, Buggy Heat is slated to be released on April 1st 1999 over in Japan. Currently, no plans
have been revealed for a U.S. or Europe release of Buggy Heat, but we'll be sure to keep you up to date.
